NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 23, 2026-- LP Building Solutions (LP), a leading manufacturer of high-performance building products, broke ground on a new LP® SmartSide® ExpertFinish® Trim & Siding manufacturing facility today in North Branch, Minnesota. The approximately 350,000-square-foot facility will be built on a recently acquired 120-acre site. It is expected to create 125 jobs at full capacity and is slated to begin production in the first quarter of 2028.

State-of-the-art facility to create 125 jobs and expand LP’s growing ExpertFinish network

“This investment reflects the strong momentum behind the LP SmartSide ExpertFinish portfolio and our confidence in its future,” said LP CEO Jason Ringblom. “The North Branch facility expands our manufacturing network, strengthens our ability to serve customers, and reinforces our long-term commitment to Minnesota.”

The North Branch facility will be the largest and most efficient ExpertFinish site in LP’s network, reflecting the scale of investment and continued demand for the product. It will be LP’s fourth ExpertFinish manufacturing location and the second one purpose-built for ExpertFinish production, following the opening of LP New York in 2023.

Located near key new construction and repair and remodeling markets in the Midwest, the facility will help support growing demand for LP SmartSide ExpertFinish products. Siding will be manufactured and primed at LP siding mills before being shipped to North Branch, where team members will apply one of 22 prefinished colors to create ready-to-install exterior siding products that help eliminate the need for painting after installation.

This investment builds on LP’s long history in Minnesota, where the company has operated since opening its Two Harbors siding mill in 1985. Once complete, North Branch will become LP’s 12th siding facility and 22nd manufacturing facility across North and South America.

The groundbreaking ceremony featured remarks from Ringblom, the Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Director of Operations Rommel Lee, DEED Deputy Commissioner Kevin McKinnon, North Branch Economic Development Authority Chair Sara Paul, City of North Branch Mayor Kevin Schieber, and City Administrator Matthew Hill. Various local and state leaders also attended the event.
